Vastushastra is a curious science of building that encompasses the forces that work on a given space through positive energy flow. Vastu Vidya is the sacred comprehensive science connected to house design and construction. Vastu means "abode" or "mansion," while Shastra or Vidya means "science" or "knowledge." The concepts of Vastu were drawn from the Sthapathya Veda, one of Hinduism's oldest sacred scriptures. 

 

  • The Entrance :   
    Take care not to get carried away. Even if you acquire a flat with a North East entrance, it might not be good. This is the most common misconception: if you get an apartment with a North-Eastern entrance, the Vastu of the flat will be fantastic. This is not always true, so don't get carried away. There are 32 zones of entrances according to Vaastu, each with its unique importance. The finest entries to consider are the East, North, and North-East. The internal construction of a property has a significant impact on its Vastu Shastra compliance. The location of the kitchen, restrooms, master bedroom, balconies, and other amenities should all be checked. Because the majority of flats are not at a 90-degree angle, they should be thoroughly examined by a professional before being purchased.

 

  • The Placement Of Kitchen: 
    It has been observed that many apartments with East or North doors have their kitchen directly next to it, occupying the North East, and hence should be avoided. The SouthEast is always the preferred choice for a kitchen, followed by the NorthWest. After the SouthEast, you can have a kitchen in the North-West, West, East of the SouthEast, or South, which are not the best but are still viable options. Kitchens in the north, northeast, and southwest are bad. Along with the location of the kitchen, the location of other utility rooms must also be considered.
     
  • The Rooms:  
    When it comes to internal construction, the location of rooms is one of the factors that can affect the property's Vaastu compliance. We've all heard that the master bedroom should always be in the flat's southwest corner. Is there a room in the Southwest that isn't a master bedroom? Is it possible for the family's masters to use it? Think? The East or North rooms should be reserved for children.

 

  • Toilets :
    According to current trends, apartments typically have more than one toilet, therefore there will undoubtedly be one or two toilets that do not flush in the proper way. As a result, when making a selection, one must consider where they are coming from! Toilets should ideally be located in the northwest. Toilets in the directions of north, northeast, southeast, and southwest should be avoided. Because it is difficult to determine by a layperson, one should always seek the advice of a professional. 
     
  • The Living Spaces :
    The greatest location for the living room or drawing room is in the north, northwest, west, or even south. All directions, except for Southwest, can be considered for a drawing-room.
     
  • Shape Of The Apartment : 
    The shape of a property is extremely essential. Apartments that are square or rectangular are always preferred. If you want to stay in an apartment, you can't disregard the cuts or extensions, as previously stated. Though cuts or exertions are extremely inconvenient and cause similar problems in the lives of residents. So, what is one to do? If there is a cut in the northeast or southwest, the property should be rejected. If the property extends in any direction other than northeast, it should be rejected. 
     
  • IMPORTANT: Because directions are so crucial in Vastu Shastra, the floor plan must be carefully examined to determine the exact placement of the cut or extension, which cannot and should not be done by a layperson because an incorrect conclusion could be drawn if the floor plan is not carefully examined. Self-remedies can be highly dangerous, and one does not spend such a large amount of money on property daily, so always seek professional advice.
